Mrs. Jones' Mustang Message
What Does a Counselor Do?
As Irving School Counselor, I am able to offer for a wide variety of services. I believe that each child comes to school with unique abilities for learning both academically and socially. I believe my job is to support students, staff, and parents in nurturing their children's growth and supporting every aspect of their learning.
Here are just a few of the tasks you might find me doing on any given day...
*Assisting with the planning, development, and implementation of intervention and/or special education services for students.
*Meeting with individual students to enhance social and interpersonal skills, counsel children in times of crisis, and support emotional needs of students in order to enhance their academic success.
*Provide parents with community and academic resources.
*Coordinates district and state testing for the building.
